Understand and apply the key principles described in codes of ethics and conduct for the teaching profession.
As part of the Kindergarten health and wellbeing programme, we looked looked at keeping our bodies and minds safe and healthy. The 'Keeping Safe' Child Protection Curriculum was used in conjunction with the 'Kimochi's' wellbeing programme.
This is an example of how these programmes were planned and implemented is outlined below. The sessions were taken from the Keeping Safe and Kimochi's handbook and placed into the DWP. The sessions involved songs, stories and a whole class discussion. In these particular sessions, the Kimochi's were used to introduce the 'Cloud' Kimochi which aims to help the students to regulate their emotions. The Keeping Safe lessons looked into feelings and how different reactions are shown through facial expressions and body language.
